About the Role
New Porgera Limited (NPL) is seeking a committed, detail-oriented and technically strong Geologist – Resource Development to join our team and play a critical role in advancing the understanding and definition of our mineral resource base. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to perform a wide range of duties that support the discovery, refinement and definition of NPL’s resource inventory. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Resource Definition & Drilling Programs

Design and plan drilling programs across multiple drilling methods such as reverse circulation (RC), diamond core drilling, aircore and other appropriate techniques depending on geological objectives.

Oversee daily drilling activities to ensure programs progress on schedule and meet technical objectives.

Provide guidance to drill crews, contractors and technicians regarding collar locations, drilling priorities and sampling procedures.
Geological Logging, Sampling & Data Quality

Manage the full geological core and RC logging process, ensuring that lithology, structure, alteration, mineralization, veining and other key features are captured in detail.

Ensure sampling procedures follow strict QAQC standards and that all samples are collected, labelled, and dispatched correctly.

Monitor geological data quality closely and ensure all information is entered accurately into company databases.
Interpretation & Geological Modelling

Interpret geological, geochemical and assay data to refine the understanding of mineralization controls, geological structures, lithological relationships and orebody geometry.

Collaborate with resource geologists to update and expand 3D geological models using industry-standard software such as Leapfrog, Micromine or Datamine.

About You

A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience or related earth science discipline.

3+ years of relevant geological experience in resource development, mine geology or mineral exploration.
