Barrick Africa & Middle East is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Exploration Geologist to join our dynamic exploration team in Saudi Arabia. 🔹 Role Overview:

The Exploration Geologist will work closely with the Senior Geologist and the broader Exploration Department across Barrick’s Saudi Arabian assets, including both existing operations (e.g., Jabal Sayid mine) and greenfields regional exploration projects. The role requires hands-on fieldwork, technical analysis, and strategic input into exploration program design and execution.

This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple geological domains, providing critical geological support to ensure the efficient evaluation and development of potential mineral resources. The role will also support regional targeting and greenfield exploration within Barrick’s expanding permit holdings in Saudi Arabia.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

The Exploration Geologist will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the design and execution of exploration programs, including geological mapping, geochemical sampling, AC/RC drilling, and DDH drilling.

  • Supporting the development and implementation of geological models that guide discovery success and resource evaluation.

  • Contributing technical expertise in specialized areas, including exploration geochemistry, regional syntheses, literature reviews, and mineral resource reporting.

  • Collecting, collating, and interpreting geological data to support operational decisions and exploration strategies.

  • Providing timely and accurate geological inputs to operational teams, ensuring that exploration results are integrated effectively into ongoing projects.

  • Supporting junior geologists and team members in developing technical skills through field programs and mentorship.

  • Preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders, management, and external partners.

  • Working in compliance with Barrick’s safety standards, environmental protocols, and sustainability objectives, ensuring zero harm and leaving a positive legacy in host communities.

🔹 Qualification Requirements:

  • Must be a citizen of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  • Minimum BSc degree in Geology from a recognized institution.

🔹 Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the exploration industry.

  • Hands-on experience in gold and copper exploration is highly preferred.

  • Strong technical skills in field geology, geological mapping, and mineral resource evaluation.

  • Proficient in collating and interpreting geological data to generate accurate and actionable insights.

  • Ability to work independently in remote field locations while maintaining high safety and operational standards.

  • Strong communication and reporting skills to convey technical findings effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proactive, results-oriented, and able to work in a collaborative team environment.
